SOIL SAMPLE INFORMATION
Make sure you prepare a sample map that shows the locations of the sample zones that matches the sample IDs on the sample bags. This is for your own use and not submitted with samples. Samples are comprised of 8-12 random 6-8” depth cores pulled in each sample zone. Sampling zones are made up of areas that represent major differences in a field – soil type zones are recommended as well as field areas that have been managed differently in the past. Sample size cannot represent more than 25 acres per sample to be valid for a manure management plan.
Upon completion of the survey and submitting your soil and manure samples you will be provided with a report that includes the following
Soil:
- pH
- Organic matter
- Buffer pH (if water pH is below 7)
- Soluble sulfur
- Calcium
- Magnesium
- Potassium
- Sodium
- Phosphorus
- Boron
- Iron
- Manganese
- Copper
- Zinc
